About Medicine Fans

Feathers have traditionally been used for a variety of purposes. They are an integral part of shamanic practice, and they are used as regalia and tools for smoke cleansing and healing.

A shaman can use feathers during a healing session. Medicine fans are made of entire bird wings and move energy around in a client's energy field. They can also be used as smoke-cleansing fans, wafting smoke from burning herbs. Feather fans during smoke cleansing give you better control over where you are sending the smoke.

Each fan will also bring animal medicine for the animals who gave their parts to the fan. The fan is a living entity and can significantly enhance your spiritual practice. When you first receive it, you should journey with your fan to discover what medicine it will bring to your practice and what skills it can teach you.

Animal Medicine

Mallard's medicine carries a gentle energy with a strong focus on the Divine Feminine and a deep connection with elemental water. Mallard is all about family relationships, emotional comfort, and healing.

Coyote Fur: One of the critical elements of Coyote medicine is adaptability. In native lore, the coyote is also the keeper of Magick. The coyote can often be seen as a trickster. As a teacher, he can be difficult as sometimes he does not take the most direct path to his goal, choosing shortcuts that may or may not work.
