Although Agates can form in all kinds of rocks, they are most often formed in sedimentary stones and old lava beds. They are among the oldest stones in our planet dating back to when our planet was formed.

Most agates have a gentle energy about them, they are formed from microscopic pieces of quartz, laid down in bands within the crystal. Most agates are grounding stones, and banded agate in particular is a great stone to both ground and soothe tensions. It's gentle energy makes it ideal for any room in the house from children rooms to rooms with those recovering from illness.
