Tumbled Stones: Snowflake Obsidian
Size: 1/2" to 1" each stone
Quantity per order: 1 Stone
Black Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass. It is produced when lava cools rapidly with minimum crystal growth. Obsidian is different than most crystals due to a lack of crystals, which makes it a fairly inefficient energy conduit - hence it is a fantastic stone to stop any kind of energy dead in it's tracks. Although the most common color is black, it can also be green, light brown or rainbow (the rarest type). Other varieties include Mahogany Obsidian and snowflake obsidian.
The "snowflakes" are due to white Cristobalite, which are caused by the partial crystallization of the glass. Snowflake obsidian has a gentler energy than black obsidian. It is a great stone to aid grounding and emotional balance, helping to dissipate excess energies. It can also be a fantastic tool for ancestral work.
