Apatite forms under a wide variety of circumstances and stones. Most Apatites are high in phosphorous and are mined for that reason. The largest deposits of apatite are formed in sedimentary rocks, in marine locations or ancient lakebeds. Apatite is one of the few minerals that are products by biological systems as well. Deposits of Apatite today can be a result of by-products of ancient organisms!

Apatite can come in many colors, and some Blue Apatite will at times have streaks of green in it or yellow as well. Blue Apatite is a strong stone for all types of dream work. Keep a piece next to you at night if you are trying to promote lucid dreaming. It is also a great energy stabilizer, helping balance your energies and chakras when they are out of balance. Being associated with the throat chakra it is a great stone of communication and self-expression but it's gentle energy can also be supportive and healing at times. This is an excellent stone for meditation as well!
