Aragonite is a carbonate mineral and somewhat of a cousin to Calcite. It is one of the most common and naturally occurring crystal forms of calcium carbonate. As with most calcites it is formed around water environments.
As with calcites, Aragonite has a calm and gentle energy. It works very well with the lower chakras especially the sacral chakra. It is often referred to as an earth healer, as it's vibration encourages conservation of nature. This is a great stone for working with animals of all kinds - especially those in need of healing or calm.
