Cilantro leaf has been used medicinally for over 5000 years, and is known outside of North America as coriander leaf. It is a historically prolific herb, having been brought to Britain by the Romans, who then brought it to North America. Spanish conquistadors introduced it to Peru and Mexico, where it spread north to the Americas. Combining cilantro with onion or garlic increases its ability to keep food fresh. It is also thought to be an aphrodisiac, and is mentioned as such in Tales of the Arabian Nights over 1000 years ago. This herb is said to have been grown in the Hanging Gardens of ancient Babylon.
Some consider this a good herb for healing the heart chakra because of its fresh green color and "green," herbaceous scent. Its color also means it has been used in money magic. Also a strong herb for protection of the home. Keywords: Protection, healing, Gardening
