As a tropical species, patchouli flourishes in hot environments; however, it prefers to be away from direct sunlight. While it requires plenty of water, it’s fairly resilient and will spring back to life relatively quickly following a period of drought and withering.
A strong, fragrant aroma is the species’s signature trait. Its flowers usually blossom at the end of autumn and produce small, delicate seeds that can be planted after careful harvesting. Likewise, cuttings can also be used to grow multiple plants.

Active Compounds: Alpha patchoulene, Beta patchoulene, Alpha guaiene, Alpha Bulnesene, Caryophyllene, Norpatchoulenol, Patchouli Alcohol, Seychellene, Pogostol.

Actions: Antiseptic, Antidepressant, Antiphlogistic, Diuretic, Astringent, Aphrodisiac, Cicatrisant, Fungicide, Tonic, Sedative

Indications: Patchouli is believed to help balance the endocrine system, which balances the body's hormones. The aroma assists the body in relaxing and promotes a feeling of peace. It also stimulates the pituitary gland, which secretes endorphins, which are known for their ability to relieve pain and induce euphoria and sexual feelings. Just sniffing the fresh leaves can give a feeling of rejuvenation when feeling worn out.

The oil is rubbed on pulse points, temples, or the mixture used as a massage oil. It is also used to cool inflamed skin, clear rough, cracked skin, sores, and wounds, and treat minor skin disorders such as acne and dermatitis. Oil of patchouli is used in aromatherapy to clear lethargy and sharpen the wits.

Precautions: We recommend you consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, mainly if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking any medications.

Magick Uses: Patchouli has long been used for money and prosperity work. It is also used in attraction spells, especially to attract a new partner or lover. It is a very grounding herb.
